 Prayers for Children

Prayers for Children

Pray that children will have strong values and harmonious relationships in their family.

1. Pray that the children will turn to the Lord, to trust and follow Him, that they will know the Lord experientially and serve Him and that they will turn from self and sin.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5,6

"I pray that ________'s children, ________, will trust in You, Lord with all their hearts, and not lean on their own understanding. I ask that in all their ways they will acknowledge You, so that You, Lord will make their paths straight. Amen." Proverbs 3:5,6

"As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever." 1 Chronicles 28:9

"Lord, I pray that ________'s children, _________, will know You and serve You with a whole heart and a willing mind; for You, Lord, search all hearts, and You understand every intent of their thoughts. Amen." 1 Chronicles 28:9

"Now flee from youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart." 2 Timothy 2:22

"Lord, I pray that ________'s children, _________, will flee youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on You from a pure heart. Amen." II Timothy 2:22

2. Pray that the children will be harmonious, kindhearted, and humble in spirit and give blessings instead of insults and that they would receive instructions and obey.

"To sum up, let all be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil, or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing." 1 Peter 3:8,9

"Lord, I pray that ________'s children, ________, will all be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil, or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for they were called for the very purpose that they might inherit a blessing. Amen." 1 Peter 3:8,9

"Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and do not forsake your mother's teaching." Proverbs 1:8

"Lord, I pray that ________'s children, ________, will hear their father's instruction, and not forsake their mother's teaching. Amen." Proverbs 1:8

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise)." Ephesians 6:1,2

"Lord, I pray that _______'s children, ________, will obey their parents in the Lord, for this is right. I ask that they will honor their father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise. Amen." Ephesians 6:1,2

3. Pray that the children will associate with positive friends, encourage one another in what is right and that they would not be companions with evil doers.

"He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm." Proverbs 13:20

"Lord, I pray that ________'s children, _______, will walk with wise people and be wise. May they not be the companion of fools and suffer harm. Amen." Proverbs 13:20

"I am a companion of all those who fear Thee, and of those who keep Thy precepts." Psalm 119:63

"Lord, I pray that _______'s children, ________, will be companions of all who fear You, and of those who keep Your precepts. Amen." Psalm 119:63

"Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17

"Lord, I pray that _______'s children, ________, will sharpen others, even as iron sharpens iron. Amen." Proverbs 27:17

"…Not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another: and all the more, as you see the day drawing near." Hebrews 10:25

"Lord, I pray that ________'s children, ________, will not forsake their own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but will encourage one another: and all the more, as they see the day drawing near, Amen." Hebrews 10:25

"My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent. My son, do not walk in the way with them. Keep your feet from their path." Proverbs 1:10,15

"Lord, I pray that if sinners entice ________'s children, ________, they will not consent. I ask that they will not walk in the way with them. May they keep their feet from the path of the sinners. Amen." Proverbs 1:10,15

Pray For The Children's Training And Growth

Pray that children will grow strong and healthy - physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally.

1. Pray that the children will be teachable, open to instruction and apply it in their lives.

"Take hold of instruction; do not let go. Guard her, for she is your life." Proverbs 4:13

"Lord, I pray that ___________'s children, __________, will be teachable, open to instruction and then apply it in their lives. Amen."

2. Pray that the children will make the principles of God's Word their criteria for discerning truth.

"…And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32

"Teach me good discernment and knowledge, for I believe in Thy commandments…I have more insight than all my teachers, for Thy testimonies are my meditation… I have not turned aside from Thine ordinances, for Thou Thyself hast taught me." Psalm 119:66,99,102

"Lord, I pray that __________'s children __________, will have good discernment and knowledge of the truth and make the principles of Your Word their criteria for discerning truth. Amen."

3. Pray that the children will grow strong physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally and be examples of right living to others.

"And the Child continued to grow and become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." Luke 2:40,52

"Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe." 1 Timothy 4:12

"Lord, I pray that __________'s children, ___________, will grow strong physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally and be examples of right living to others. Amen."

Pray That Parents Would Make Prayer The Operating Power In Their Home.

Pray that parents will pray for and pray with their children.

1. Pray that parents will pray for their children as Abraham prayed for his child, Ishmael, that their children would live before God, so that God would bless them, make them fruitful, multiply them and make them great.

"And Abraham said to God, 'Oh, that Ishmael might live before Thee'… 'And as for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him, and will make him fruitful, and multiply him exceedingly. He shall become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.'" Genesis 17:18,20

"Lord, I pray that __________ will pray for their children, __________, as Abraham prayed for his child Ishmael that they would live before You, God, so that You would bless them, make them fruitful, multiply them and make them great. Amen."

2. Pray that parents will pray for their children as David prayed for his son Solomon, that their children would have a perfect heart and keep God's Word, and serve God as He has provided.

"… And give to my son Solomon a perfect heart to keep Thy commandments, Thy testimonies, and Thy statutes, and to do them all, and to build the temple, for which I have made provision." 1 Chronicles 29:19

"Lord, I pray that __________ will pray for their children, __________, as David prayed for his son Solomon, that they would have a perfect heart, keep Your Word and serve You as you have provided for them. Amen."

3. Pray that parents will consistently pray for their children as Job did, interceding on their behalf.

"And it came about, when the days of feasting had completed their cycle, that Job would send and consecrate them, rising up early in the morning and offering burnt offerings according to the number of them all, for Job said, 'Perhaps my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.' Thus Job did continually." Job 1:5

"Lord, I pray that __________ will consistently pray for their children, ___________, as Job did, interceding continually on their behalf. Amen."

 SCRIPTURES TO PRAY FOR CHILDREN

Father, we release (name of child)              to you. We come against all the

forces of the enemy that have kept our children on the sidelines. I speak in

the name of Jesus that these children will rise up mighty, powerful and

anointed, that they will be leaders of men and followers of You. We come

against religion and tradition and those who say children are not important.

We release them into their destiny and all that You have for them. We give

our children to You and we say, 'Do what You want to do in them, we set

them free, we will not hold them back, but we speak blessing over them in

the mighty name of Jesus.

Ephesians 1:17-19

Lord, give our children the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, and the knowledge of You. That the eyes of their hearts be enlightened that they will know the hope to which you have called them, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints and His Incomparably great power for us who believe.

Ephesians 3: 17-19

These children are rooted and established in love; we pray that they may have power with all the saints to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ towards them, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that they may be filled to the measure of the fullness of God.

Ephesians 5:1 and 21

Our children will be imitators of God and live a life of love. They will submit to others out of reverence to Christ.

Ephesians 6:1,2

Our children will obey their parents in the Lord. They will honor their father and mother so that it may go well with them and that they may enjoy long life on earth.

1 Timothy 4:12

No one will look down on our children because they are young, but they set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in faith and in purity.

Psalm 103:2-5

Thank you Lord that our children won’t forget His benefits. You forgive all their sins and heal all their diseases. You redeem their lives form the pit, and crown them with love and compassion. You satisfy their souls with good things so that their youth is renewed like the eagles.

Psalm 1:1-3

Our children do not walk in the counsel of the ungodly or stand in the path of sinners or sit in the seat of scoffers. But their delight is in the law of the Lord and on His law they meditate day and night. They are like the trees planted by the rivers of water, which yield their fruit in season and whose leaf will not whither, and whatever they do prospers.

Psalm 119:18

Our children seek You with all their hearts; they will not stray from Your commands; they have hidden Your word in their hearts that they may not sin against you.

Psalm 91:9-16

Our children have made the Most High their dwelling place. No harm will befall them; no disaster will come near their tents. For He will give His angles charge over them to guard them in all their ways. They will carry them so that our children do not dash their foot against a stone. They will tread upon the lion and the cobra; they will trample them underfoot. Because our children love You, You will deliver them, You will set them on high. They will call upon You and You will answer them, You will be with them in trouble, You will deliver them and honor them and with long life You will satisfy them and show them Your salvation.

Acts 1:8, 2:38

Our children will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. They will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them.

Joel 2:28

Thank you Lord that it will come to pass that You will pour out Your Spirit on our children; our sons and daughters shall prophesy, dream dreams, and see visions.

1John 4:4

Greater is He that is in our children the he that is in the world.

Isaiah 24:13.14 and 17

All our children shall be taught by the Lord and great will be their peace, their health, safety, protection and prosperity. In righteousness they will be established. Tyranny will be far from them; they will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near them. No weapon formed against them will prosper.

Mark 4:20

The hearts of our children are like good soil, they hear the word, accept it and produce a crop….100 times that which was sown.
